Here are some suggestions for students’ science notebooks:

Following the first activity in which students listed things they noted about their mechanisms:

  • Draw any mechanism you find interesting.
  • Label its input, its output and its pivot.
  • Explain what it is used for, and what you have to do to operate it. ï?£

Following the sorting game:

  • What categories did you use to sort your mechanisms?
  • List some items from each category.
  • What other categories could you have used?
