Stem at home

STEM at Home

These easy STEM-at-home activities can be performed at home by parents and children, using everyday materials that can be recycled or obtained in dollar stores or supermarkets. The STEM project ideas develop concepts in an engaging, step-by-step manner. These concepts include gravity, friction, air resistance, levers and tension. Each unit provides rich photos and videos, illustrating a wide choice of materials, instructions for assembly, troubleshooting tips, and suggestions about customizing the design. These STEM activities for kids at home are particularly suitable for home schooling, down-0time from remoting instruction and/or motivating and developing STEMJ hobbies.

Flip Toys

These toys are common in Latin America, and have different names in different regions. Some of these names are acróbata (acrobat),trapecista (trapeze artist) and salto de muerte (somersault, literally “jump of death”). In this unit, we will make our own flip toys from recycled or found materials.
