Procedure

Collect materials: two popsicle sticks, tape, plastic top, clothespin, loop of yarn

Lay out popsicle sticks and plastic top on the sticky side of a piece of tape.

wrap tape around popsicle sticks and lid until the fulcrum is secure

Test assembly to see if sticks separate at top when squeezed from bottom

Tape loop of string on outside of each stick, with one strand above the other, not far apart.

Attach clothespin across loop of string.

Collect materials: two craft sticks, tape, bottle top, clothespin, loop of yarn

Lay out craft sticks and plastic top on sticky side of a piece of tape.

Wrap tape around craft sticks and lid until the fulcrum is secure

Tape string (shown before and after taping)

Attach Clothespin while string is stretched

Relax handles: clothespin should drop!

Collect materials: tape, bottle top, clothespin, loop of yarn

Fold and tape cardboard strip. Lay out rulers & taped cardboard on strip of tape

Wrap tape around craft sticks and lid; use a rubber band if necessary

Tape string (shown before and after taping)

Attach Clothespin while string is taut

Relax handles: clothespin should drop!
